Publication Ethics

Academic publishing depends mainly on trust. Publishers trust the editors' decision, editors respect the peer reviewers' feedback, and peer reviewers trust the authors' data. This full and meaningful trusting system should be based on ethics. These ethical issues should be respected during publishing process.

1. Ethical compliance of research:

Authors should respect the ethical and security issues of research from the research proposal to the end of experimentation (see the ethical issues of research, University of Sadat City). Ethical and security issue may arise surrounding human, animal, biotechnology and plant breeding research.

2. Research funding:

Authors should mention and acknowledge the research funders in the manuscript. This funder could be research foundation, governmental body, commercial company or self-funding.

3. Research misconduct:

If the editor suspects research misconduct in the manuscript, he has the right for undertaking all legal procedures against the author(s). This research misconduct could be:

3.1. Data fabrication:

Data fabrication means making up of research results without carrying out experimentation.

3.2. Data falsification:

Data falsification means that the researcher(s) carried out the experimentation; however, the researcher(s) manipulated, changed or omitted some or whole data from the research results.

4. Plagiarism:

Plagiarism means the using of original materials or ideas from one's own and writing as if they were the author's own. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to check against plagiarism checking system, which compares the content of the manuscript with a vast database of web pages and academic publications, before evaluation, and the editor has the right to reject the manuscript if the similarity index exceeds 25%.

5. Duplicate submission:

Duplicate submission means submitting the manuscript to a journal when it is already under processing in one or more other journals. Therefore, it is not allowed to submit a manuscript to be considered for publication if it is under consideration by other journals.
